Rebecca Miller\u2019s five-part documentary series opens up the vault, weaving Scorsese\u2019s own stories with a murderer\u2019s row of voices: De Niro, DiCaprio, Spielberg, Schoonmaker, Mick Jagger.<\/p>\n

The result is a portrait that\u2019s warm, funny and just self-mythologizing enough. Sure, it\u2019s a little reverent, but when the guy basically is American cinema, who\u2019s going to argue? Bring a cannoli and a Criterion subscription.<\/p>\n
