Derby Book Festival<\/a> is calling on fellow Marketing Derby<\/a> Bondholders to act as collection points for its latest appeal for children\u2019s books.<\/p>\n

To coincide with the festival\u2019s Autumn Edition, which takes place from Thursday 13 November to Sunday 16 November, it will once again be running the Children\u2019s Book Appeal.<\/p>\n

To date the appeals have collected and distributed more than 8,000 books to schools and organisations in Derby.<\/p>\n

It sees people donate gently used, pre-loved books suitable for primary school children, dropping them off at collection points around the city.<\/p>\n

This year\u2019s drop off venues include the Derby City Lab<\/a>, Derbion<\/a>, Derby City Council<\/a>\u2019s Moorways Sports Centre, Wathall\u2019s<\/a>, QUAD<\/a>, PIB Insurance<\/a> and Morley Hayes<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Festival audiences can also drop off books at one of the 25 events taking place during the Autumn edition, hosted by QUAD, Derby Theatre<\/a>, Derby Museums<\/a>, Artcore<\/a>, Derby Market Hall and local libraries.<\/p>\n

Derby Book Festival is currently looking for more businesses and organisations to act as drop-off points.<\/p>\n

Local businesses are also being encouraged to get involved by organising collections among their own staff.<\/p>\n

Vanessa Cameron, children and you people\u2019s co-ordinator at Derby Book Festival, said: \u201cSince its conception in 2023, the Children\u2019s Book Appeal has delivered around 8,000 books to children around the city, helping to encourage a new generation of readers.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe plan to continue increasing this number with support from partners around the city.<\/p>\n
