The Queen of Black Magic\u00a0and\u00a0Dancing Village: The Curse\u00a0Begins\u00a0director\u00a0Kimo Stamboel\u00a0is back this Halloween season with\u00a0Netflix\u2019s\u00a0The Elixir, and the trailer has arrived.<\/p>\n

The Elixir comes exclusively to Netflix on October 23, 2025.<\/p>\n

In the film, \u201cAn elixir unleashes the undead in Wanirejo Village. A family at odds with one another must unite and fight to survive as their hometown collapses.\u201d<\/p>\n

Mikha Tambayong, Eva Celia, Marthino Lio, Dimas Anggara, Varen Arianda Calief, Ardit Erwandha, and Claresta Taufan star in Kimo Stamboel\u2019s The Elixir.<\/p>\n

\u201cHorror is a proven audience favourite in Thailand and Indonesia. But when it comes to zombie horror, demand has been met by Korean, English, and foreign-language titles,\u201d Malobika Banerji, senior director of content for\u00a0Southeast Asia at Netflix,\u00a0said recently. \u201cWe wanted to take the thrill of zombies and fuse it with local storytelling, culture, and authenticity.\u201d<\/p>\n

Kimo Stamboel began his career as one half of the duo known as the Mo Brothers<\/a>, known for films including Macabre, Killers, and Headshot. Stamboel\u2019s partner was Timo Tjahjanto, whose solo career has also made him a master of Indonesian horror. Tjahjanto\u2019s films include May the Devil Take You, The Night Comes for Us, and recently the Hollywood sequel Nobody 2, while he also directed segments \u201cSafe Haven\u201d and \u201cThe Subject\u201d in the V\/H\/S franchise.<\/p>\n
