A wanted man was tracked through a forestry block by dogs after he fled police in Mosgiel yesterday. \u00a0<\/p>\n
The 32-year-old man was wanted for an incident earlier in the day when police located him at the Z petrol station in Mosgiel at 11am yesterday, Sergeant Matt Lee said.<\/p>\n
Once the man was told he was under arrest, he took off in his car at speed and fled.<\/p>\n
Multiple road spike locations were set up and his vehicle was spiked in Henley-Berwick Rd a short time later.<\/p>\n
The man then ran from his car and disappeared into a nearby forestry block, Sgt Lee said.<\/p>\n
The dog squad were called in who quickly located the man.<\/p>\n
The man was taken to Dunedin Hospital for treatment of a dog bite.<\/p>\n
He was arrested, charged with injures with intent to injure, assault with intent to injure, performing a threatening act, wilful damage, possession of cannabis, possession of methamphetamine utensils, escapes police custody, failed to remain stopped for an enforcement officer and operating a vehicle recklessly.<\/p>\n
Bail was opposed and he would appear in Dunedin District Court today.<\/p>\n
