For many Today<\/a> With Jenna & Friends fans, Matt Rogers<\/a> is their top contender to become Jenna Bush Hager<\/a>\u2018s permanent cohost<\/a>.<\/p>\n

On the show\u2019s Wednesday, October 15, episode, Bush Hager recalled celebrating the release of her book imprint\u2019s first published novel<\/a>, Conform, at an event the night before. \u201cA lot of moms and daughters came up to me, and it turns out, Matt Rogers is their favorite,\u201d she told Rogers, who is her current Jenna & Friends guest host.<\/p>\n

\u201cIn fact, a mom-daughter duo\u2026 one was a teacher. They watch the show after school, after they work, and they call each other during it. And the mom goes, \u2018Yeah, and I met that adorable Matt Rogers on your show,\u2019\u201d she continued. \u201cAnd the daughter was like, \u2018Mom, we know him from Las [Culturistas].\u2019 And she said all the moms are falling in love.\u201d<\/p>\n

Rogers, for his part, said he\u2019s \u201calways been good with moms,\u201d adding, \u201cWhenever I was going over to my friends\u2019 houses in high school and stuff like that, I was like, \u2018Put me in the kitchen with the mom.\u2019 You know what I mean? \u2018We\u2019ll be chatting and talking. You just go do your thing.\u2019 Sometimes, I would even distract the moms while my friends would make drinks.\u201d<\/p>\n

Bush Hager went on to joke that she \u201ccould\u2019ve really used\u201d Rogers during her teenage years growing up with former President George W. Bush<\/a> and former First Lady Laura Bush<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cBack in the day, I would be chatting with Laura Bush?\u201d Rogers excitedly asked, to which Bush Hager replied, \u201cYes. And y\u2019all would\u2019ve been chatting in the kitchen, and I would\u2019ve been making the Captain Morgan and Coke.\u201d<\/p>\n

Rogers is an actor and comedian best known for his roles in projects such as Our Cartoon President<\/a>, Q-Force<\/a>, Fire Island<\/a>, I Love That for You<\/a>, No Good Deed<\/a>, and Good Fortune<\/a>. He also famously cohosts the Las Culturistas<\/a> podcast with his longtime friend Bowen Yang<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Rogers has stepped in as Bush Hager\u2019s Jenna & Friends guest hosts several times since Hoda Kotb<\/a> left the NBC morning show in January. He hosted full weeks of the show back in May and August and returned for his latest cohosting gig on Tuesday, October 14. He will continue to appear on the show through Friday, October 17.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019ll be here tomorrow. Bring all your moms to fall in love with Matt,\u201d Bush Hager joked at the end of Wednesday\u2019s episode. Looking into the camera, Rogers said, \u201cHey, moms!\u201d<\/p>\n

Fans have shown their love for Rogers as Bush Hager\u2019s cohost via social media. \u201cWe love Matt Rogers \"❤\"give than man a job!\u201d one person commented underneath a Jenna & Friends Instagram<\/a> post on Tuesday. Someone else shared, \u201c@mattrogerstho for permanent host!!!! When he\u2019s on I watch the entire hour whether I\u2019m interested in the content or not. He makes everything fun! Their chemistry is perfect!\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cKeep @mattrogerstho for permanent host PLEASE. I mean, so long as he wants it! Haha,\u201d another person pleaded. A different user commented, \u201cOmg! Please make Matt the permanent co host!\u201d<\/p>\n

Kotb even named Rogers as one of her top picks to be her Today replacement during a June appearance<\/a> on Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen<\/a>, along with Savannah Guthrie<\/a>, Justin Sylvester<\/a>, Scarlett Johansson<\/a>, and Sheinelle Jones<\/a>. \u201cMatt Rogers is great,\u201d she gushed at the time, adding, \u201cI feel like it\u2019s whoever clicks great with Jenna.\u201d<\/p>\n
