As global interest in psychedelics continues to rise, journalist Joe Dolce offers a timely and comprehensive resource in his new book, \u201cModern Psychedelics: The Handbook for Mindful Exploration,\u201d released recently by Black Dog & Leventhal.<\/p>\n
In a Wellness Monday talk at The Church in Sag Harbor on October 13, at 3 p.m., Dolce, an Amagansett resident, will present \u201cModern Psychedelics for Health & Healing.\u201d Dolce will share his thoughts on how psychedelics and microdosing have been used to open the doors of perception and increase awareness and treat illnesses that eluded modern medicine and big pharma. In his book, Dolce dives into how psychedelics have been used in treatments by physicians worldwide, and have been proven to assist individuals navigating depression, anxiety, PTSD, substance use disorders, and more. The paperback guide combines contemporary science, ancient traditions, and practical advice for those curious about or experienced with psychedelics. \u201cModern Psychedelics\u201d explores the benefits, dosing guidelines, and risks associated with all major psychedelic substances, including MDMA, psilocybin (\u201cmagic mushrooms\u201d), ketamine, DMT\/5-MeO-DMT, ayahuasca, LSD, mescaline (peyote and huachuma) and iboga\/ibogaine.<\/p>\n
