{"id":82579,"date":"2025-10-16T17:06:11","date_gmt":"2025-10-16T17:06:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/nz\/82579\/"},"modified":"2025-10-16T17:06:11","modified_gmt":"2025-10-16T17:06:11","slug":"nick-offerman-shuns-ai-says-his-new-book-is-designed-to-make-people-love-the-magic-of-being-human","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/nz\/82579\/","title":{"rendered":"Nick Offerman Shuns AI, Says His New Book Is Designed to Make People \u2018Love the Magic of Being Human\u2019"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Nick Offerman has long been outspoken against the intrusion of AI in both Hollywood and life in general, and he reiterated that belief on Thursday, as the actor stopped by \u201cThe View.\u201d According to the \u201cParks and Rec\u201d alum, he\u2019s actively trying to encourage people to embrace the \u201cmagic of being human.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">To do so, Offerman has written a new book, called \u201cLittle Woodchucks: Offerman Woodshop\u2019s Guide to Tools and Tomfoolery.\u201d In short, it\u2019s a book that teaches kids and adults alike how to make things out of wood and other materials. Offerman is, of course, well-known for being a woodworker in real life, but he noted on Thursday that the book is meant to defy tech companies.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">\u201cIn this day and age where companies are taking over the curation of our lives, like, they want AI to think for us,\u201d he explained. \u201cI love my clumsy, stupid farmer voice, I would never want a robot to write my song for me, because my song is stupid in a wonderful, delicious way that\u2019s all about my voice! I don\u2019t want to give over my agency.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><a data-ylk=\"ct:story;elm:img;itc:0;\" class=\"stretched-box\" href=\"https:\/\/powerwomensummit2025.splashthat.com\/Announcement\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\" target=\"_blank\"><img alt=\"\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"960\" height=\"247\" decoding=\"async\" data-nimg=\"1\" class=\"rounded-lg\" style=\"color:transparent\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/nz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/d12854916699f2277522cb86d6fcbf55.jpeg\"\/><\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">\u201cAnd so, this book is to encourage people to love the magic of being human, something that a robot can never do,\u201d he continued. \u201cBecause when you make things with tools, and you know how the world is put together, that\u2019s a great way to say \u2018I love you.&#8217;\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Naturally, Offerman brought several examples of creations from the book with him, including a literal slapstick.
