<\/p>\nJack Draper has announced a shock split from coach James Trotman after four years of working together.<\/p>\n
The British tennis coach cited family reasons for the change, bringing an end to a partnership that saw remarkable success.<\/p>\n
Draper secured three ATP Tour titles during their time together, including the prestigious Indian Wells tournament.<\/p>\n
He also made it to the semi-finals of last year’s US Open and climbed all the way to world No4.<\/p>\n
James Trotman has stepped away from his coaching duties for Jack Draper due to family reasons<\/p>\n

Trotman’s decision comes as he wants to spend more time with his two young children rather than travelling the tour circuit.<\/p>\n
Jamie Delgado has taken over as Draper’s head coach, having joined the team just nine days ago, and brings impressive credentials to the role.<\/p>\n
He worked with Andy Murray from May 2016, helping him achieve the best season of his career. <\/p>\n
Murray won his second Wimbledon title, defended his Olympic singles gold medal, and finished that year as world No1.<\/p>\n

The British coach spent the last three years with Grigor Dimitrov, guiding him to his first title in over six years at the Brisbane International.<\/p>\n
Dimitrov also reached two Masters 1000 finals and returned to the world’s top 10 during their partnership.<\/p>\n
Their collaboration ended last month after Dimitrov suffered an injury at Wimbledon whilst leading Jannik Sinner.<\/p>\n
Delgado isn’t the only former Murray team member joining Draper; Shane Annun and Matt Little, who worked as Murray’s physio and fitness coach, joined earlier this season.<\/p>\n
The appointment marks a new chapter for the British No1 who’s been working hard at the National Tennis Centre gym and even had a training stint in the Algarve recently.<\/p>\n
While there were initially thoughts that Trotman might stay on in some capacity alongside Delgado, it turns out that won’t be happening. <\/p>\n
Trotman doesn’t feel he can give Draper what he needs while dedicating more time to his family.<\/p>\n

Draper expressed his gratitude for his long-time coach, who’ll always be considered part of the team.<\/p>\n
Draper has been out of action since withdrawing from the US Open after his second-round match due to bone bruising in his left arm.<\/p>\n
He’s only managed one official match since Wimbledon, making his injury layoff particularly frustrating.<\/p>\n
The 23-year-old plans to make his comeback at the UTS London event in December. <\/p>\n
