In a statement Va\u2019aelua said police continued to appeal to the public for any information that may lead to the identity of the person or persons responsible.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe family of the deceased are dealing with their family tragedy being made public and Police are supporting them with the assistance of other agencies.\u201d<\/p>\n
He said police were conducting a number of inquiries which are part of the homicide investigation<\/a>.<\/p>\n \u201cDespite the work done so far, no arrests have been made.<\/p>\n \u201cThe team acknowledge there is a lot of work ahead.<\/p>\n \u201cDue to the investigation being ongoing Police were unable to comment further and will provide any updates when we are in a position to do so.\u201d<\/p>\n Last week Va\u2019aelua said fire investigators found accelerant at the scene and the deaths were being treated as a double homicide.<\/p>\n \u201cOur investigations have led us to now confirm that the fire was intentional,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n It was safe to assume the fire was intentionally lit by someone who entered the home while the family were asleep, he said.<\/p>\n Va\u2019aelua acknowledged the family involved in this tragedy.<\/p>\n \u201cThis is understandably an extremely traumatic time for them.<\/p>\n \u201cWe are determined to provide them with answers and bring this to a close so they can try and move forward with their lives.<\/p>\n \u201cIt is imperative we find who is responsible for this.\u201d<\/p>\nDetective Inspector Tofilau Faamanuia Va\u2019aelua.
