Sam Claflin has landed his next movie role in a “brilliant” Ireland-set drama with a stacked cast. Titled The Last Days Of Rabbit Hayes, the film sees Claflin take on a lead role alongside Niamh Algar and Alisha Weir. <\/p>\n

Directed by Jim O’Hanlon and based on Anna McPartlin’s novel of the same name, the film sees Algar take on the titular role of Rabbit Hayes, a woman who loves her ordinary life even though she has a handful of days left to live. <\/p>\n

Per Screen Daily<\/a>, Rabbit “must come to terms with her past and a future she won’t be part of, while her close-knit, optimistic family grapples with the reality of losing her and decides what will happen to Juliet (Weir), Rabbit’s 14-year-old daughter”. <\/p>\n

Joining Claflin, Algar and Weir on the cast are stars including Colm Meaney, Sinead Cusack, Tom Glynn Carney and Ruth Bradley.<\/p>\n

Speaking of the film, which has already wrapped production in Dublin, Irish filmmaker O’Hanlan said: “I fell in love with Rabbit Hayes and her wonderfully funny, quirky, idiosyncratic Irish family the moment I picked up Anna McPartlin’s brilliant novel.<\/p>\n

“It’s a testament to Anna’s beautiful screenplay that we’ve been able to pull together such an amazing cast and crew to create a film bursting with love and loss, wit and warmth, music and laughter.”<\/p>\n

On adapting her own book for the film, McPartlin, who previously penned TV dramas The Gone and Striking Out said: “Rabbit Hayes has always been about love, laughter and hope. <\/p>\n
