A woman has shared the five reasons she is leaving the UK, from the cost of living<\/a> to ‘expensive’ travel from London to Europe.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Lindsay, who goes by @linzblog on social media, has lived in\u00a0Australia, Ireland and Canada<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The travel content creator spent three years living in in the UK and has now decided it’s time to leave.<\/p>\n

In a recent TikTok<\/a> video<\/a>, she explained the financial reasoning behind her decision.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Lindsay said:\u00a0‘It is so expensive here, as soon as you walk outside your door you spend \u00a320.\u00a0I literally just tap my card wherever I go.<\/p>\n

‘I don’t even look at my bank account because you’re just so used to stuff being expensive, unless you’re a finance bro or a lawyer or director, I don’t know how anyone ever gets ahead working two jobs you get taxed so much it’s hard to financially get ahead.’<\/p>\n

Aside from money, the dreary UK weather has become a problem for Lindsay, too.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Though it is currently autumn, the Kiwi feels like she’s ‘in the depths of winter right now’.<\/p>\n

Lindsay elaborated: ‘Gloomy weather really gets to me, not seeing the sun really is hard for my mood.’\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

She went on to describe how she experiences a ‘blanket of anxiety’ whilst living in\u00a0London<\/a> over job security and finances.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Lindsay revealed she never feels ‘settled’ in the capital and stressed the need to have savings kept aside for emergencies.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The cost of travel between London and Europe was another issue for the content creator, who feels it’s expensive.<\/p>\n

‘It’s not really cheap to travel Europe from London,’ she said.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Lindsay explained how she would pay \u00a3350 for flights on bank holidays and ‘prices would triple’.<\/p>\n

But she also felt mid-week travel was expensive, too, and could come to around \u00a3150.\u00a0<\/p>\n

‘\u00a340 for a luggage there, \u00a340 for a luggage back, it’s not as cheap as you think it is,’ she added.<\/p>\n

Lindsay’s fifth reason for leaving the country was she felt she had ‘no work life balance’.<\/p>\n

The content creator feels she works ‘three times as hard’ as she did in Australia and still gets ‘the same sort of benefit and reward’.<\/p>\n

‘You go so above and beyond and work so hard in your job,’ Lindsay continued.<\/p>\n

‘And you could still be losing your job next week.’<\/p>\n
