Alec Baldwin and Kim Basinger were reportedly not easy to work with on set of the 1991 film The Marrying Man.<\/p>\n

The actors \u2014 who met while working on the Neil Simon rom-com in the early \u201890s and later married in August 1993 \u2014 created a toxic environment for everyone involved, according to a report from People<\/a> published Wednesday, October 22.<\/p>\n

\u201cHonest to God, if I were destitute and living on the street with no food and somebody offered me a million dollars to work with Alec and Kim, I\u2019d pass,\u201d a senior production staffer told the publication at the time. \u201cTheir actions were vile, deplorable, despicable.\u201d<\/p>\n

According to People\u2019s sources, Baldwin \u2014 who is now married to Hilaria Baldwin<\/a> \u2014 would even engage in somewhat violent behavior.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe didn\u2019t like it when his phones cut out, so he would slam them against the wall,\u201d a crew member told the outlet. \u201cI don\u2019t know how many phones he smashed to smithereens.\u201d<\/p>\n

One time, he was said to throw a director\u2019s chair, which just missed an electrician. (Baldwin, now 67, reportedly apologized.) \u201cAlec would be pissed at whatever wasn\u2019t going right,\u201d a crew member claimed.<\/p>\n

Basinger, now 71, was reportedly just as bad, allegedly demanding that the director of photography be fired because she didn\u2019t like the way he made her look. A source also claimed that she wanted to change lines in the script because writer Simon (a three-time Tony Award winner) \u201cdidn\u2019t understand comedy.\u201d<\/p>\n

Baldwin and Basinger married on August 19, 1993, and welcomed daughter Ireland Baldwin on October 23, 1995. The couple separated on December 5, 2000, and divorced on September 3, 2002.<\/p>\n

According to the New York Post<\/a>, Ireland recently wrote a candid Substack post<\/a> about \u201cpoisonous\u201d family members ahead of her 30th birthday on Thursday.<\/p>\n

In the post, titled \u201c30, Flirty and Surviving\u201d \u2014 available only to paid subscribers \u2014 Ireland said that she \u201cgrew up without two parents in my home and no siblings to turn to,\u201d explaining that she once felt the need \u201cto win over certain people.\u201d<\/p>\n

Without specifically naming anyone, she said, \u201cTheir validation and praise was meaningful to me. Nothing was more freeing than finally realizing how poisonous these people are. My daughter, [Holland, 2], doesn\u2019t have to know these people. I can protect her from them. I can do my very best to construct my own idea of a family, piece by piece.\u201d<\/p>\n
