Jon Bon Jovi<\/a> has praised Oasis<\/a> for helping to \u201ckeep rock alive\u201d as he confirmed Bon Jovi\u2019s first world tour since his vocal cord surgery.<\/p>\n

The band will return to the stage in 2026 for a run of global shows<\/a> \u2014 their first in eight years \u2014 beginning with four consecutive nights at New York\u2019s Madison Square Garden in July. The tour will then head to Edinburgh\u2019s Murrayfield Stadium, Dublin\u2019s Croke Park and London\u2019s Wembley Stadium<\/a> on 4 September 2026.<\/p>\n

Speaking at the official tour announcement, where The Standard was in attendance, the frontman reflected on the surge in demand for live music and credited the Gallagher brothers\u2019 reunion with reigniting excitement around rock bands.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think post-Covid people wanted that kind of experiential thing,\u201d he said, recalling seeing Oasis<\/a> in New Jersey in September. \u201cThey wanted to get together again and feel that joy. So it\u2019s bigger than ever.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere was a time, 10, 12 years ago that I used to hear people say, \u2018rock is dead\u2019. I think rock is alive and well again, so the promise of what Oasis brought [this] year is going to give a lot of young rock bands an opportunity to shine again.<\/p>\n

\u201cSo I think it\u2019s good that stadium acts are able to fill buildings and people are enjoying themselves there.\u201d<\/p>\n

The tour arrives as Bon Jovi enters a new chapter both personally and professionally.<\/p>\n

His son Jake Bongiovi and daughter-in-law Millie Bobby Brown<\/a> revealed in August that they adopted a baby girl this summer<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The couple married in May 2024 in a private ceremony in the US, followed by a second celebration in Tuscany.<\/p>\n

Asked whether the band\u2019s newest family member would be joining the tour audience, Jon smiled: \u201cI would certainly hope so.\u201d<\/p>\n

Has she heard any of his home rehearsal sessions? \u201cIn the garage? Not yet,\u201d he joked. \u201cShe\u2019s been in the house but not [there].\u201d<\/p>\n

When teased that she may be his most \u201cjudgemental audience yet\u201d, he laughed.<\/p>\n

The comeback follows the singer\u2019s lengthy rehabilitation after vocal cord surgery in 2022 \u2014 a process he has described as far tougher and slower than he anticipated.<\/p>\n

The operation forced him to rethink how he made music, shaping his forthcoming album Forever (Legendary Edition).<\/p>\n

\u201cI can always write another record. I\u2019m not worried about my ability to write another song,\u201d he told NPR<\/a>. \u201cI could have walked away. I just haven\u2019t had to come to that conclusion because, as I said, the process and the progress are steady.\u201d<\/p>\n
