Two of his paintings recently sold for more than $140 million (NZ$244m) at auction.

In 1976, more than 100 Picasso works were stolen from the Palais des Papes in Avignon, France. All the pieces were eventually recovered.

Picasso, born in Malaga in 1881 and who died in 1973, is regarded as one of the most influential artists of the 20th century.

– AFP

‘Still Life with Guitar’, a 1919 gouache and pencil work by Pablo Picasso valued at around 600,000 euros…

[31
442,498,499,500,48,47,501,156,111,43,139,69,49,46,44,45
post-99071","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-arts-and-design","tag-arts","tag-arts-and-design","tag-artsanddesign","tag-artsdesign","tag-audio","tag-current-affairs","tag-design","tag-entertainment","tag-new-zealand","tag-news","tag-newzealand","tag-nz","tag-podcasts","tag-public-radio","tag-radio-new-zealand","tag-rnz
["GET
