The 2025 WorldTour season is almost over, with only four events remaining, and only two in Europe. For months, the focus has been on the stage races, specifically the hilly ones, but now, for one day only, the women will switch back into one-day racing mode for Classic Lorient Agglomération. The race is the final one-day race before the World Championships. If a rider isn’t prepping for Rwanda at altitude, they will be on the start line in France, testing out their fast-twitch muscles.

Traditionally, riders have used this race to try out their Worlds form; however, in recent years, a lot of the big names have skipped Classic Lorient Agglomération, formerly known as GP de Plouay, in favour of specific training. This year will see a combination of riders who have kept to themselves since the Tour de France Femmes avec Zwift and riders who are looking to score some last-minute results. There are a few riders targeting the Worlds who have chosen to remain at altitude, since Rwanda will be raced at 1,567 metres, but others will be hunting a late-season win, like Elisa Longo Borghini.

One of the best things about this race is that it can be won in so many different ways. Mischa Bredewold has won the last two editions, both times from a reduced peloton. Mavi García won in 2022 from a two-rider move. Elisa Longo Borghini won in 2021 solo. The rolling terrain and final circuit make for some fantastic opportunities for a variety of different rider types.

How to watch

The race will be broadcast live on TNT Sports in the UK, Eurosport or HBO Max in the US and most of Europe, and FloBikes in Canada.

Live coverage is set to start at 15:00 CET (9:00 ET, 23:00 AEST) on August 30th.
