Gogglebox stars Roisin Kelly and Joe Kyle were axed from the Channel 4 show last month after three and a half years on the programme – but they could be set for a new TV venture

A cherished Gogglebox favourite might be heading for a stint on an iconic reality show after getting the boot from the Channel 4 programme.
Roisin Kelly and Joe Kyle burst onto our screens in February 2022, becoming trailblazers as the first Scottish duo to grace the sofa – and quickly won over viewers with their infectious charm.
Throughout their time on the show, the Glasgow pair had audiences in hysterics with their razor-sharp wit and side-splitting commentary on the week’s television offerings.
But fans were left devastated last month when Roisin dropped the bombshell that they’d been given their marching orders ahead of the show’s 26th series launch next month.

Breaking the crushing news on TikTok, Roisin wrote: “After three and a half years of sitting on the sofa channel 4 have decided it’s time for Joe and I to stretch our legs and have not asked us back for season 26.”, reports the Manchester Evening News.
“Therefore we are leaving the Gogglebox family. We couldn’t be more grateful to Studio Lambert for the opportunity, the experience has actually been so mad and we will miss watching tv with you all on Friday nights!”.

“It’s been an honour to represent Scotland as some of the first Scottish people on the show and prove we don’t actually need subtitles.”
However, the dynamic duo are now being hotly tipped for a starring role on a blockbuster reality series. Betting firm Betway are convinced the duo could be jungle-bound for I’m A Celebrity later this year, with spokesman Mike Reading revealing: “After their surprise departure from Gogglebox, many viewers will be eager to see what’s next for Roisin Kelly and Joe Kyle, who have managed to generate a keen fanbase.”

He continued: “They could follow in the footsteps of previous Gogglebox stars and enter Celebrity Big Brother (5/1) or take a trip into the I’m a Celebrity jungle (10/1).” However, that’s not the only possibility, as Mike also forecast a fresh podcast fronted by the duo.
He elaborated: “Known for their quick wit and chemistry, the pair are now priced at 2/1 to launch their own podcast, which would seem like a natural step, given Roisin’s proven success on two previous shows.
“As Roisin recently told her 60,000 TikTok followers, they’re now free to take on fresh opportunities including brand partnerships and new media ventures.”
Gogglebox series 26 is scheduled to begin on Friday, September 5th, 2025, on Channel 4.
