Roy Keane and Ian Wright’s stints in Celtic colours were short-lived, but many would have hoped that it lasted much longer.
The duo enjoyed incredible playing careers, including lifting Premier League titles, FA Cups, and the European Cup for the former Republic of Ireland international.
Now, Keane and Wright can be seen on your screens on a regular basis, including on the popular YouTube channel, the Overlap.
On occasions, Celtic would get a mention, and this time, the legendary midfielder brought up Scotland’s most successful club in a heartwarming fashion.

Early on in the video, Gary Neville shared that Wright would prefer for the Overlap crew to ‘film every week’ rather than every fortnight, which is what they do.
In response to that, Keane told his fellow pundit that he should visit him instead, something which he used to do in the past, but no longer does.
That’s when Keane brought up the Hoops, and how, as ‘two Celtic lads’, they could watch Brendan Rodgers’ side in action, as there were a lot of tongue-in-cheek comments between the two.
“Oh, Roy, Wrighty would like us to film every week rather than every two weeks,” said Neville.
Keane responded: “Wrighty wants it every day. But less is more. How about just come up and visit me?
“Remember when Wrighty used to come up on a Tuesday and have a stew? Then he got sick of that. Do you know what I mean? The novelty wore off.”
Wright stated: “The summer has just gone, and we are getting back into it. I was going to go last night.”
Keane then added: “You could have watched the Celtic game. Two Celtic lads together. We could have watched Celtic. Why didn’t you come up?”
Wright then stated: “It’s because I have been busy. Why are you digging me out for? I have just been busy at the start of the season.”
Keane then continued: “What’s the point of being busy? It’s no good being busy and having all that money when you can’t make time for your friends. Keep your money. Keep your houses. Time for your friends.”
Gordon Strachan debunks Keane claim at Celtic
Even though Keane was at Celtic for six months, life didn’t start well with that infamous cup defeat to Clyde, but he still lifted two trophies.
Gordon Strachan was in the Celtic Park dugout at the time, and back in 2018, he debunked claims that he actually didn’t want to sign the hard-hitting midfielder, as he told Open Goal.
“No, not at all,” responded Strachan on claims he didn’t want to sign Keane at Celtic.
“I just wanted to make sure that Roy knew that when he came up here, and that’s why I had to speak to him, listen, yes, Dermot (Desmond) will let me sign you. I want to sign you.
“But you have got to understand that you haven’t played for six or seven weeks at Manchester United or two months, and my team are playing well, at the moment.
“Petrov was on fire. Nakamura was on fire. I said, ‘I don’t want to upset that. But there will be a chance for you. There is no doubt that there will be a window for you. Are you prepared to wait a wee bit until that window comes along?’ And he kind of nodded. That was enough.”
