Discussing 21:50 Rêverie, Victoria explained: “21:50 Rêverie represents a profound instant of change in my life in 2001. With this fragrance-a dark, raw vanilla-I am taken right back to an otherworldly night on the island of Java where thousands of tea candles surrounded us. A luscious, earthy scent was in the air and the flames twinkled like flickers of my new life ahead.”
The scent begins with tobacco leaf accents before developing into a plum centre and concluding with a warming blend of vanilla, tonka and cedarwood, reports OK!.
Comparisons have been drawn to Celine Black Tie, though Black Tie lacks the fruity middle notes. Portofino `97 drew inspiration from the early days of Victoria’s romance with her renowned husband David Beckham, with the star explaining: “When David and I first met, we kept our relationship under wraps. This was when I was in the Spice Girls, when we were enormously successful all around the world, and David was playing for Manchester United. In 1997, we decided to take a trip to Portofino. I remember the light, I remember how the hotel smelled and how exciting that time was. I remember it all like it was yesterday.”

Inside the set are four iconic scents from Victoria
The fragrance begins with Calabrian bergamot and black pepper before transitioning into a crisp combination of oceanic accords, amber and incense. It concludes with musk, vetiver and patchouli, whisking you away to an opulent resort.
This has frequently been likened to Bal d’Afrique by Byredo, though Byredo’s creation leans more towards citrusy notes.
Victoria and David have consistently adored Paris, and Suite 302 pays tribute to their moments in the romantic capital. The fashion mogul revealed: “This fragrance captures the memories of David and I in Paris. This is the city we sneak off to, it is always our happy place, whether for an occasional weekend, or a birthday, or anniversary, I’ve always felt a natural connection to Paris.”
It presents a fascinating fusion of conventionally feminine and masculine elements, launching with luscious black cherry and unconventional red pepper. The middle features timelessly amorous violet and rose whilst the foundation offers a more daring pairing of black leather and tobacco.
The Beckhams famously relocated to California and San Ysidro Drive symbolises that period for Victoria. She explained: “San Ysidro Drive signifies a time in my life that was full of new beginnings and self-discovery whilst living in California. It was revitalising, calming, peaceful.. and I think we captured that essence with this fragrance with an intense rush of passion fruit and pink peony, ocean air infused with rich rose absolute, saffron flower and agarwood, and black amber and vanilla.”
This fragrance differs considerably from the European-influenced scents, launching brightly with passionfruit and saffron before transitioning into a core of rose and jasmine. The foundation features oud and black amber.
Alternative perfume ranges exist that draw inspiration from specific moments, locations or emotions at more accessible price points. Charlotte Tilbury’s Collection of Emotions reportedly triggers various feelings and has been deliberately designed with these sensations in mind, beginning at £20 for a 10ml bottle with Joyphoria being our top pick.
For those drawn to temporal and geographical inspiration, Maison Margiela’s Replica range proves captivating, seeking to capture experiences and recollections within distinctive fragrances. The discovery collection currently costs £30.60 through Cult Beauty.
