An author has turned to her beloved dog for inspiration for her latest book series.

Rochelle Armstrong’s new children’s picture book, Adventures with Aggie: Aggie Goes to London, follows her Boston terrier, Aggie, as she explores iconic landmarks in the UK’s capital, meets royalty and gets involved in ‘mischievous activities’.

The series marks a major shift in Rochelle’s writing, with her previous books focusing on identity and mental health.

However, it went hand in hand with her love of, and background working with, children, she said.

Rochelle, who lives near Bury St Edmunds, said: “The book allowed me to be creative, playful and get in contact with my inner child.

“Aggie inspired the series. I got her when she needed rehoming and her journey going from quiet and shy to sassy and full of life is what encouraged me to start writing.”

Aggie Goes To London released on August 9.

Rochelle has already written the next two books in the series, with plans to explore more British cities plus US states.

She currently works as a counsellor and hosts a podcast called Mixedlings.

Aggie Goes to London is now available on Amazon.

Looking forward, Rochelle said: “There’s a good deal coming, there are endless adventures for us to go.

“After the UK and US, I might do Europe over the coming years as I plan and write the next set of novels.”
