Lancashire Teaching Hospital’s Sepsis Lead Nurse Sonia Connell has talked about the life-threatening medical emergency of Sepsis ahead of this month’s campaign of awareness.



Sonia, who marks 30 years with the trust this year, has shared her passion for raising awareness of the condition and the connection she has with it.

She said: “As Sepsis Lead Nurse, I am extremely passionate about raising the awareness of sepsis, and in providing support to sepsis survivors.

“And last year we tragically lost our mum, Joan, to sepsis. This experience was incredibly painful, but it has made me more determined to raise awareness of this silent killer.”
