EastEnders spoilers follow for Monday’s episode (1 September), which is available to watch now on streaming service BBC iPlayer and hasn’t yet aired on TV.
EastEnders’ Kat and Zoe Slater have finally reunited, in a huge episode that has been 20 years in the making.
Kat found out about Alfie and Stacey’s secret dealings with her estranged daughter last week – but she soon had a bigger problem to deal with, when Tommy went missing after a big argument.

Tommy also knows the truth about Zoe, and viewers saw him reach out to his sister via text, before heading to a block of flats where they met for the very first time.
Having spent the night at Zoe’s flat, in today’s episode Tommy found out that she couldn’t stay there much longer and was planning to go back to Spain.

Money was a problem for Zoe though, so Tommy suggested that if she lets him come with her, he’ll lend her his savings.
This was music to Zoe’s ears, and the pair headed to the bank to transfer the money. But on the way, Tommy realised that running off to Spain wasn’t feasible – so he told Zoe that he’d be able to get proper cash another way.
Meanwhile, back in Walford, terrified Kat desperately searched for Tommy. Alfie was keen to call the police, but Kat wanted to avoid getting social services involved again.

However, this wasn’t possible as Kat and Alfie later had a visit from social worker Lesley after missing an appointment. She also explained that Bert and Ernie had stolen Alfie’s wallet to buy lunch at school and were worried about Tommy going missing.
Kat and Alfie came up with a fake story about Tommy and assured her he’d be back soon, so Lesley insisted that she would come back that evening.
As night fell in Walford, Alfie tried to reason with Kat that they should call the police, saying that if Lesley returned before Tommy, all their kids could be taken into care.

The 8pm deadline arrived, and Kat was overjoyed to get a text from Tommy saying he was outside the pub.
Kat ran outside in the pouring rain to see Tommy get out of a taxi. But he wasn’t the only passenger – as Kat then came face to face with Zoe, in the exact same spot where Kat told her she was her mother all those years ago.
How will both Kat and Zoe react to this unexpected reunion?
