Good Morning Britain fans have threatened to put forward complaints with broadcasting watchdog Ofcom. It comes after Susanna Reid and Ed Balls presenting on Wednesday morning caused a wave of controversy.

The duo, who made their return to the ITV show this week following their summer break, grilled newly-elected Green party leader Zack Polanski during Wednesday morning’s programme, on September 3.

The politician has made waves after securing his position as leader of the Green Party of England and Wales, facing intense scrutiny over his policies and previous statements on GMB.

However audiences were far from happy about the latest instalment, slamming Susanna and Ed for their “aggressive” approach, according to reports in the Mirror.

“Don’t like him but what a silly line of questioning to this Polanski guy on #gmb ask him some proper questions,” one viewer remarked on social media as they took to Twitter to air their complaints.

Another penned: “Very hostile questioning of Zach Polanski #GMB.” A third raged: “Susanna Reid and Ed Balls attack, attack, attack. What the hell is wrong with them.”

Someone else agreed as they quipped: “GMB is so, so, so embarrassing these days. Talk over and badger guests. at every turn.”

“Balls and Reid are embarrassing and despicable on #gmb They should be reported to @ofcom,” another declared, taking to social media in a rant.

Someone else blasted: “Poor interview, I’m sure Susanna is trying too hard too turn into Piers Morgan, and spectacularly failing.

“Point of this interview ? Total waste of the man’s time just tried to make a fool of him, both presenters rude and looked down on him,” someone else commented.

Throughout the interview, Ed and Susanna grilled Zack on his suggested immigration policies, with him stating he “despises” Nigel Farage’s politics, believes Brexit has been “catastrophic” and questions why we would impose “limits” on immigration.

He also clarified his position after remarks he made 12 years ago regarding hypnotherapy and women’s breasts have come back to light.

Ed pressed: “At the time you believed that through hypnotherapy you could enlarge women’s breasts and charge people for it. What was your thinking then and how did your thinking change subsequently?”

Zack responded: “Anyone who believed that, that would be problematic and it is nothing I ever believed.” He continued to assert he was “misrepresented” in the original piece which he understood was about body image and issued an apology the following day.

He stated: “Since then I have a strong track record of standing up for social justice, standing up to lower people’s bills, standing up for marginalised people in this country and that’s a platform I’m very proud to stand on today.”
