Novak Djokovic beat Taylor Fritz to progress to his 14th career semifinal at the US Open.

Djokovic has been questioned over how happy he is playing tennis at the moment, as speculation around his retirement continues.

However, that did not appear to be on his mind in the US Open quarterfinals, with Djokovic rating his performance against Fritz.

This is not the first time that Djokovic has beaten Fritz at the US Open, as he improves his dominant head-to-head over the American number one.

The first time that Djokovic beat Fritz was at the Monte Carlo Masters in 2019, and he has gone on to win all 11 of their meetings since then.

Not only has Djokovic won all 11 of their matches, he has also won 26 of the 30 sets they have played against one another.

Djokovic lost one of those sets against Fritz in their most recent encounter in the US Open quarterfinals, which he won 6-3 7-5 3-6 6-4.

Although this is a very one-sided head-to-head that Djokovic has against Fritz, there are actually four other players that he has beaten more times without losing a single match.

Leading that unwanted record is Gael Monfils, who he has beaten 20 times in a row including a match at the Brisbane International earlier this year.

The other three players on this list to have the worst records against Djokovic are Jeremy Chardy (14-0), Milos Raonic (12-0) and Andreas Seppi (12-0).

Former Wimbledon finalist Raonic has admitted he did not know what to do against Djokovic, when comparing playing him to the likes of Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal.

Both Chardy and Seppi cannot worsen their record against Djokovic as they are officially retired, but Monfils, Raonic and Fritz can still worsen their head-to-heads.

While many players struggle against the 24-time Grand Slam champion, there are actually a select few players who actually have a winning head-to-head against Djokovic.

Which ATP player does Novak Djokovic have the worst record against?

There are 11 players who have somehow managed to get a winning head-to-head against Djokovic.

Included in this list are the likes of Andy Roddick, Nick Kyrgios and Reilly Opelka, who beat Djokovic in Brisbane earlier this year, but four players’ records stand out more than the rest.

There are only three players who are unbeaten against Djokovic after playing him multiple times, with Alejandro Tabilo the latest to join this list after his win at the Monte Carlo Masters earlier this year.

Jannik Sinner also beat Djokovic at Wimbledon to extend his advantage over the Serbian, after previously trailing the head-to-head 4-1.

Djokovic has beaten Alcaraz five times in their eight previous meetings, including at the Australian Open earlier this year.

However, the Spaniard is yet to drop a set at the US Open this year, while Djokovic has already suffered three Grand Slam semifinal defeats in 2025.
