Jannik Sinner was able to charm his Danish model girlfriend in unusual fashion thanks to a shared love of ice cream.
Sinner, 24, is reportedly dating Laila Hasanovic, also 24, with the Dane having been seen in his player’s box at both Roland Garros and Wimbledon earlier this year.
According to a report from Italian outlet Corriere Dello Sport, Roberto and Nicoletta Stampfl, owners of the Santo Gelato ice cream shop in Monte Carlo are said to have ‘confirmed the relationship’ between the pair.
Ms Stampfl said: ‘Sinner and Laila Hasanovic live in the La Condamine neighborhood of Monte Carlo. Our shop is right under their building. I really liked Laila, she’s kind, just like Jannik.
‘She’s beautiful, very simple in the way she carries herself and dresses. In short, she’s a very down-to-earth girl.
‘Sinner knows [a lot] about [ice cream] when he comes here, he tastes before deciding. But in the end, he always chooses pistachio and black cherry, his favourite flavours.’

Hasanovic was seen on the red carpet at the Venice International Film Festival last week
It follows Sinner’s charge to the US Open semi-finals after he swept aside fellow Italian Lorenzo Musetti in straight sets.
After winning 6-1 6-4 6-2 at Flushing Meadows, Sinner will face Canadian Felix Auger Aliassime in the last four on Friday for a place in the final.
Sinner has previously dismissed suggestions of a romance when Italian reporters claimed he had been seen on a date in Copenhagen with Hasanovic, insisting: ‘No, no, there was no girl.’
‘I had just some business with a couple of photo shootings there. That’s it. Nothing else.’
But after a zoomed-in photo of his phone screensaver emerged earlier this week in New York, fans were unconvinced that he was single.
One wrote: ‘Him having his gf’s pic as wallpaper… and they say he’s not a romantic man.’
Another joked: ‘Goodbye Jannik Sinner in his single era, you were bigger than the whole sky.’
The 24-year-old’s dating history has drawn plenty of attention in recent seasons.
He was previously in a relationship with fellow tennis player Anna Kalinskaya, who herself had dated Nick Kyrgios, and later linked with Russian model Lara Leito, a former partner of Oscar-winning actor Adrien Brody.
