Miriam Margolyes left the hosts of This Morning gobsmacked with her candid confession about an incident at Buckingham Palace during her appearance on Thursday’s episode.
The Harry Potter actress, 84, is renowned for her forthright nature and when she joined Cat Deeley and Ben Shephard on the ITV magazine show, she casually mentioned that she had passed wind while in the presence of royalty.
She confessed: “I have let it out at the palace but quietly. I don’t know [who heard] because it happens behind me.” Cat covered her mouth in shock, and viewers were ‘grossed out’ by the admission as well.”

One viewer commented on X: “Gross woman!” and another echoed: “What a gross woman #ThisMorning!”
Despite this, some viewers found Miriam’s honesty refreshing. One wrote: “Many people disagree, but I bloody love Miriam Margolyes, I could listen to her stories for days!”

Another said:” Miriam is great. So far from the usual fakes who pretend to be perfect” but another took issue with something Miriam had said earlier.
They wrote: “Miriam Margolyes: I consider myself quite sophisticated… All said while talking with food in her mouth!”, reports the Mirror.
Despite her indiscretion in front of the Royal family, Miriam had nothing but praise for King Charles and Queen Camilla and everything that they do.
She stated: “I love the King and Queen. I hate it when people say anything critical about them, they’re gorgeous people, kind, very well read and sensible!”
However, she did confess that things nearly took a turn for the worse when she attempted to curtsy to the Queen. She explained: “I was trying to curtsy [to the Queen].”
“I’m unsteady on my feet so I held onto Her Majesty and I thought I would bring her down on me which I didn’t want! She’s stronger than me and everything went off all right.”
In anticipation of her new book release, the actress who played Professor Sprout also disclosed that she’d recently undergone a procedure that turned out to be “messy.”
“I did a poo test this morning, it was vivid. It was difficult to know, I don’t want to go into details,” she started.
“I just want to tell people they must have a poo test,” she continued, encouraging followers to undertake the “life-saving” procedure.
She added: “It went on a bit longer than I expected, that’s all.” To reassure Cat and Ben about her test results, she said, “I’m sure it’s all right; it could be a bit messy.”
“I think doctors should find a better way of finding out,” she carried on. “I put it in a perfume bag to soften the blow,” she concluded.
