The owners of an award-winning house that featured on Channel 4’s Grand Designs are seeking planning permission to safeguard its future due to a landslip and erosion.

It has caused an “immediate threat” to the stability of the entrance to Cefn Castell, Criccieth, Gwynedd, and a boundary wall now overhangs the cliff, according to planning documents.

The owners want council planners to give them permission to carry out cliff stabilisation work following the landslip which was caused by water from a land drain.

The property was a winner of a Royal Institute of British Architects award, external for its design, as well as appearing on the TV show, external.
