GAGNANTE ENCHERE (Race 6 No. 6): Best horse in race and will have support but shorter trip and tighter track pose question. Wanting good each-way odds.

Race 1 – Maiden Plate (1500m)
MALBEC MAN (4) is drawn poorly but hasn’t missed a place in three outings. The step up in trip shouldn’t bother him and he will be hard to hold out.
SUPIDO ROSE (10) has had her chances and was well beaten when second over this trip here two starts back. She has been kept fresh by a recent trial and from gate two there will be no excuses.
SILVIO DANTE (6) has drawn the car park but is fitter for two outings and has been racing in stronger Maidens than this. With Julie Busuttin’s 3kg claim he could round them up late.
CIRCUS MAXIMUS (14) has been trying for a long time but Adam Campton brings them here for a purpose and from a good gate will get every chance with Bella Youngberry.
Verdict – MALBEC MAN (4) on top, he has least convictions.

Race 2 – Maiden Handicap (800m)
TEAJAY (6) was never in from a wide gate at his debut outing at Warwick. Bubba Tilley replaces the apprentice Chloe Lowe and from a better gate improvement is on the cards.
HANEY (1) was supported on debut but didn’t flatter and has four trials since May to get ready. With Karl Zechner from a good gate he will be given his chance.
SAGA’S GIRL (11) showed speed when run down at Gatton last preparation and had a change of stables. She is drawn poorly but Dylan Turner will take no prisoners.
BELLA RUSSIAN (9) brings Victorian and won’t find a much weaker Maiden. If there is anything there 2kg claimer Ty Wheeler will find it.
Verdict – Watch market, on TEAJAY (6).

Race 3 – Class 1 Handicap (800m)
A winner of one with five placings from of 12 starts, AYE AYE BOOM (3) has had three outings for Nick Keal and just missed the placings at Warwick last start. Bubba Tilley replaces the apprentice Bella Youngberry and from the ace draw won’t get a better chance.
MHASAHN (10) has been freshened after a winning a Warwick Maiden over this trip last start. He has speed and from the good draw can make his presence felt.
LEICA PHERRARI (5) was never in it at Warwick but is fitter for two outings and suited this journey. With Corey Sutherland’s 1.5kg claim she can pounce late.
STARSARISE (6) is resuming after winning on the Gold Coast polytrack when having his first outing for John Wallace. The gate tests but Bella Younberry’s 2kg claim helps and she might be better than these.
Verdict – AYE AYE BOOM (3) is overdue.

Race 4 – Benchmark 62 Handicap (1900m)
This track suits SHAPE OF WATER (6) which got it done in a Benchmark 58 here last start. He has won over this trip previously, drops 1kg, Scott Sheargold stays on and from a good gate can control the race
AU REVOIR (7) was the bridesmaid to Shape Of Water last start here and meets him 1.5kg better. He won his only previous start over this trip and with Jake Bayliss replacing Bailey Wheeler will be in the finish again.
JUSTICE SERVED (2) beat Shape Of Water two starts back at Beaudesert and they meet on similar terms. He will give a start, but Karl Zechner knows how to ride this track and will put him in the race at the right time.
KENSHIN MARU (3) doesn’t win out of turn but has placed at two of three outings over this trip. A wide gate tests but Paul Hamblin stays on and knows what to do.
Verdict – SHAPE OF WATER (6) the one to run down.

Race 5 – Benchmark 62 Handicap (1500m)
Hard to pass a mare in form and KIND WISH (2) broke a long run of outs winning one of these last start. She rises 1.5kg but Lucke Dempsey stays on and will get all the favours from the inside draw.
PICKAXE (6) is poorly drawn but has been improved by two outings and will appreciate the extra distance. This tight track poses some challenges but 3kg Stephanie Tierney won’t be fazed.
SON OF BEEBEE (3) has been finding it hard to win since a change of stables but may find this easier than Toowoomba. Stacy Callow stays on and with a positive ride can test them late.
SUKHBIR (4) hasn’t won for a while and disappointed here behind KIND WISH (2) but is fitter for two outings. Amy Graham stays on and he can improve on recent efforts.
Verdict – Staying with KIND WISH (2).

Race 6 – Benchmark 60 Handicap (1200m)
A wide gate won’t bother LITTLE VISTA (2) which beat all but the winner here two starts back in similar grade. She makes her own luck and with 1.5kg claimer Olivia Webb replacing Georgina Cartwright will give them something to catch.
OYSTERCATCHER (11) is a late starter debuting as a seven-year-old mare but put them to the sword here at only her second start. This is harder but 3kg claimer Chelsea Francis stays on and may not be done with yet.
GAGNANTE ENCHERE (6) has been around the mark at recent outing and hit the line in stronger company than this at the Sunshine Coast. This tight track and shorter trip pose questions but he might be better than this class.
PORRISTA (9) is resuming on the back of two trials. Her best form is on heavy ground but Mark Currie brings them here for a purpose and Bubba Tilley rides this track well.
Verdict – LITTLE VISTA (2) hard to pass.

Race 7 – 0-55 Handicap (1200m)
Some solid recent form here but going with SURCOTE (6) which is knocking on the door and was only run down late in this class here last start. His last win came here with and he will be on the bunny throughout.
CRAZY EYED FRED (4) got it done easily here last start in similar class. With 1.5kg claimer Olivia Webb replacing Dale Smith he carries the same weight and can test them late again.
CAPIANA (3) has less convictions than most of these winning two of his past three, with the wins being at Gympie. This is harder but he has speed and with Dale Smith winning form can’t be ignored.
ROCK LOBSTER (13) hit the line well when resuming at Beaudesert. He has only won one of 21 but this is the right company and with Corey Sutherland can make his presence felt.
Verdict – Wary of CRAZY EYED FRED (4) but going with SURCOTE (6).
