President Donald Trump’s headline-grabbing antics are once again drawing fire from comedian Bill Maher.
During Friday’s episode of “Real Time with Bill Maher,” the host zoned in on Trump’s latest eyebrow-raising move: attempting to rename the Department of Defense to the “Department of War.”
“The Department of Defense is now the Department of War, also the Justice Department will now be the Girl of Revenge,” Maher joked.
The rebrand isn’t just a gag. Trump signed an executive order on Friday to rename the department, though formally changing the name requires an act of Congress.

Maher noted that the department was “originally” called the Department of War “under George Washington.” In 1949, it was changed to the Department of Defense.
Maher noted that Trump’s personal behavior might be at odds with the image he’s trying to project.
“He said it sends a message that we are fierce warriors,” the comedian said. “And then he went back to his Twitter spat with Rosie O’Donnell.”

Trump and O’Donnell’s feud has spanned decades, but it’s recently taken a darker turn. The president has repeatedly threatened to revoke the actor’s citizenship, prompting O’Donnell to hit back with a cutting remark.

“He’s like a cornered rat and he doesn’t know where to go or what to do,” she said Friday on “The Jim Acosta Show.”
“So he goes into his bag of tricks and one of his tricks is, ‘Let’s make fun of Rosie O’Donnell and threaten her,’ even though he’s threatened me before and never done anything.”
