Coronation Street star Sue Devaney has been told she ‘adored’ by a popular 90s popstar as she was seen supporting him and his bandmates during a big night in Manchester.
The actress is best known for playing Debbie Webster in the ITV soap, having first made her debut in the role more than four decades ago when she was 16 years old.
It was on Friday (September 5) that Sue shared a rare update with fans, as she joked in a social media post that she’d ‘played out’ twice this week, when she’d usually be working on her scripts.
On Thursday night (September 4), the soap star hit the red carpet at the Manchester Opera House as Steps made a special appearance at the press night for their musical in the city.
Here and Now features a host of Steps’ biggest hits, including Stomp, Better Best Forgotten, One For Sorrow, and 5,6, 7, 8 weaved around a new story, that sees a cast of characters working in a seaside superstore.

And those in attendance on opening night in Manchester were in for an unexpected finale as all five members of the band, Ian ‘H’ Watkins, Faye Tozer, Lee Latchford-Evans, Claire Richard and Lisa Scott-Lee all took to the stage.
But back to Sue and she shared a beaming snap of herself as H planted a kiss on her cheek. Another photo also showed her out with Corrie co-stars Jonathan Howard and Jane Hazlegrove, who play Carl Webster and Bernie Winter, as they wactched former soap wrtier Jonathan Harvey’s show at the Hope Mill Theatre.
Alongside the post, Sue shared on Instagram: “I’ve played out two nights in one week! I normally stay home and study but when Steps are in town all bets are off! @ianhwatkins @officialsteps @claire.sweeney also a show by the wonderful Jonathan Harvey at Hope Mill. @mrjonathanhoward @jojeharvey @hopemilltheatre.”

H was quick to respond, as he gushed in the comments section: “I ADORE YOU [love heart eyes emojis].” Corrie’s Jane Danson was also keen to show her support, as the Leanne Battersby star replied: “Nobody studies harder than you Sue – you deserve to play out! What a brilliant week.”
