Prince Harry‘s potential meeting with his father, King Charles, upon his return to England this week, would leave his wife, Meghan Markle, in an incredibly difficult position, a royal expert has claimed. The Duke of Sussex is set to head back home tonight to attend the annual WellChild awards in London, while on Tuesday, he’s set to carry out engagements in Nottingham. Despite neither side confirming any official meeting, it’s been speculated that Harry could end up meeting with father, King Charles, in what would be the first time since the pair met in February last year.

But according to royal expert Jennie Bond, such a prospect would be an unwelcome scenario for the Duchess of Sussex, who, according to her, would “naturally feel threatened”. She told OK! magazine: “It would be natural for her to feel somewhat threatened by her husband being drawn back into the royal circle. So, I think she would have conflicting emotions about Harry meeting his father, if this is indeed on the cards. I’m sure, though, that they would have discussed it, and that Harry would not go ahead if he did not have his wife’s support.”

Meanwhile, author Tom Bower said Meghan could be feeling “safe” while staying back in Montecito, California, in the knowledge that she and their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, remain Harry’s top “priority”.
