The Huawei Band 9 sports a sleek, rectangular design that closely resembles a traditional watch – it could easily be mistaken for one at first glance. But don’t be fooled by its slim profile; it’s packed with technology to accurately track your daily movements, reports the Manchester Evening News.

Compatible with both Android and Apple phones, this band features a 3.7cm AMOLED screen that’s bright enough to view outdoors. Plus, it’s incredibly lightweight, with the strap weighing just 14 grams.

In terms of features, it comes pre-loaded with a variety of sports activities to track, including running, cycling, swimming, hiking, and much more. A heart rate monitor tracks your heart rate throughout these activities, reporting the data to your chosen health app for later review.

Additionally, the Huawei watch also monitors the wearer’s total step count and sleep pattern. It can provide valuable insights into different aspects of your health, helping you make informed decisions about your activity levels.

However, one thing to note is that this smartwatch does not include a GPS sensor. This could be a deal-breaker for those who like to upload their activities to Strava or Komoot.

An alternative that does include a GPS sensor is the AMAZFIT Bip 6. Priced at £68.99, it offers turn-by-turn directions with map navigation and is fully water-resistant for swimming.

There’s also the newly released Nothing Watch Pro 3, which also has a built-in GPS tracker along with some impressive AI features. Wearers can use it to take calls with AI noise cancellation to block out surrounding noises, but it comes at a cost of £99 – currently down to £79 on Amazon (at the time of writing).

The Huawei watch has received a rating of 4.6 stars from 202 reviews, with one reviewer stating: “Bought this for my daughter as a present. Lovely watch, she’s had a different brand of smart watch for the past two years and said that the new one she has now is much better, she describes it as light weight, easy to use and not as chunky as some of the other ones.”

Another five-star review reads: “This was my first smart watch I’ve ever had and really pleased with it. The battery lasts a long time, I’ve had it about two weeks now and still not had to charge it yet. Would definitely buy again if ever wanted one again.”

A third customer commented: “Bought this a few weeks ago when my Fitbit stopped working. Battery life is great charge lasts a week and when needs charging does not take long. Has all same information as most of the higher priced models and a clearer screen.”

However, not all shoppers were as impressed. “Lovely looking watch, unfortunately l was unable to connect with my phone,” one review reads.

Another user encountered issues with the step tracker on the watch: “I liked the functions on the watch apart from the pedometer which didn’t appear to work.”
