Nicolas Jackson is one player who will be hoping he is about to kick on after finally getting his move away from Chelsea, and the international break has shown he is on the right path to do so.

Jackson got his move away from Stamford Bridge on loan on deadline day, when he joined Bayern Munich after a manic 24 hours that followed Liam Delap’s hamstring injury.

The Blues decided instead to recall Marc Guiu to provide cover for the Englishman, and Jackson got the move away he wanted.

His departure stopped Axel Disasi getting a move after he took up the last European loan spot, however his focus will now be getting off to a strong start with his new club.

Before he gets underway in Germany, the forward had a chance to get some minutes in the tank during the international break with Senegal.

Despite being a regular for his country over the past two years, his international goalscoring record has been very disappointing. He scored just one goal in his first 20 appearances for his nation.

However, in his first start since departing the Blues, Jackson found the net in a 3-2 win over DR Congo, doubling his goal tally for Senegal.

He will be hoping this is the start of a personal turnaround after an unimpressive campaign in front of goal at Stamford Bridge, and he’ll have the chance to show Chelsea they will regret not making him their number one option at the club.

Despite not moving to another Premier League side, Jackson has the chance to make a statement against his parent club.

The Blues open up their Champions League game with a trip to face Bayern Munich, the game which could end up being the Senegal star’s debut.

Jackson is eligible to face the Blues in the game, and they will be hoping that they are not made to immediately regret their decision to let him go, even if there is big money involved in a potential permanent deal.

Joao Pedro is likely to be the Chelsea man who starts up front in the Allianz Arena, with Delap out for a number of weeks.
