Kevin Feige recently addressed his future at Marvel Studios, dismissing speculation about him leaving, and outlined the franchise’s long-term plans. In a new press interview, he confirmed his continued leadership and shared updates on upcoming projects, including Spider-Man: Brand New Day and Avengers: Doomsday.
Kevin Feige is not going anywhere from Marvel
Kevin Feige has confirmed that he is not leaving Marvel Studios, despite his contract ending in two years. “Do I want to be making big movies for big audiences in ten or 15 years from now? Yes, that’s all I want to do. Marvel is great way to do that,” he said during a press roundtable at Marvel’s Burbank headquarters (via Deadline).
Feige remains the creative lead at Marvel, guiding its transition into a new, leaner phase of content production. He emphasized the studio’s commitment to quality over quantity, citing lessons learned from recent projects.
Marvel will now produce one to three films annually and reduce its Disney+ output to one live-action series per year. “We produced 50 hours of stories between 2007 and 2019,” Feige noted. “But in the six years since ‘Avengers: Endgame,’ we’ve had well over 100 hours of stories, in half the time. That’s too much.”
Marvel has tentative MCU plans for next seven years
Feige revealed that Marvel has a roadmap through 2032. “It’s a seven-year plan,” he teased. “I think it goes to 2032. It’s on magnets, it can move around.” The current plan includes a reduced release pace and a focus on distinct, genre-specific stories, including a planned “reset” after Avengers: Secret Wars.
The upcoming Marvel slate includes:
Spider-Man: Brand New Day (Sony) – July 31, 2026
Avengers: Doomsday – December 18, 2026
Untitled Marvel – July 23, 2027
Avengers: Secret Wars – December 17, 2027
Untitled Marvel – February 18, 2028
Untitled Marvel – May 5, 2028
Untitled Marvel – November 10, 2028
Untitled Marvel – December 15, 2028
Feige confirmed that Secret Wars will mark the end of the Multiverse Saga and trigger a reboot of core timelines and characters, including a new X-Men lineup.
The Fantastic Four: First Steps is scheduled to release on July 25, 2025.
