Club chairman Neil Bowman said they were “pleased that we have now received planning permission for a much-needed upgrade”.
According to the 183-year-old cricket club’s funding application, the project is expected to cost £2.6m in total and be completed in 2027.
It said the two-story building at its Avenue Road pitches would include changing facilities, catering capabilities and space for community activities.
Mr Bowman said the clubhouse would be “shared with all generations of the local community, we now call on local residents to have their say on this exciting project”.
The club received 117 comments objecting to its proposal and 176 comments supporting the scheme at the planning application stage.
