Steve Conner sadly passed away on Saturday, July 12 just a few months after receiving a diagnosis of lung cancer.
He had just turned 48, with a party including his loved ones held at Nightingale House Hospice earlier this month.

Steve joined Gwersyllt Cricket Club when he was just 10-years-old, and eventually was made captain of the second team. He went on to coach and guide many of the players for the current first team.
In his youth, Steve lived in Marford and attended Ysgol Bryn Alyn.
When he wasn’t on the field playing cricket and inspiring others, he worked as a branch manager at Lloyd and Jones Engineers Merchants on Wrexham Industrial Estate.
Since his passing, Steve has been called a ‘true asset to the club’, and will be missed deeply by all who knew him.
A spokesperson for the club said: “We’re deeply saddened by the passing of Steve Conner. A true club man who gave so much to the lads and helped shape the 1st team as we know it.
“His legacy will live on through everyone he guided. Steve was a truly special man – kind-hearted, full of laughter, and loved by so many.”
Last summer, he married his partner Gail Conner, and the happy couple had been together for five wonderful years, residing in Penycae.
“He is very much missed by everyone, you only have to see the [social] posts about him”, said Gail.
“Steve was absolutely loved by everyone he has so many friends from all over. He was a joker, but you could never tell if he was being serious.
“He would do anything for anyone if he could and he was very protective over people he held dear.”

Steve also coached at Chirk until late last year, and also loved golf, being a member and playing for years at Wrexham. Throughout his life, he also had several motorbikes, the last being a BMW GS 1250.
Gail added: “Steve enjoyed holidays – be it camping with our dog, Ferg, or trips abroad like our last being a bike trip to Switzerland.”
Together, they loved to visit Spain and travelled there regularly.
Steve was raised in Wrexham by his parents, John and Marilyn. He leaves behind a dear sister, Nicola, and half-brother Gareth.
On Saturday, July 19, a minute’s applause was held in honour of Steve at his home ground by both the first and second teams at Gwersyllt.
A funeral will be held at the crematorium on Thursday, August 7 at 12pm.
A club spokesperson added: “We will come together to celebrate his incredible life, his warmth, and the unforgettable memories he leaves behind.”
