İTV, the Azerbaijani national broadcaster, has held auditions in order to select their representative for Junior Eurovision 2025.

After receiving over 60 applications during the submission window, 15 artists were invited to a live audition round. A six-member jury evaluated the performances. The members of the jury were:

Siyavush Karimi – People’s Artist of Azerbaijan, composer
Govhar Hasanzade – Honored Artist of Azerbaijan, composer
Vuqar Jamalzade – Honored Artist of Azerbaijan, composer
Samira Efendi – represented Azerbaijan at Eurovision 2020 and 2021
Yashar Bakhish – Composer and music arranger
Javid Imamverdiyev – Chief Director of the Azerbaijan State Academic Musical Theatre

The jury evaluated the performers’ stage performance, vocal abilities and charisma. The performer deemed to be the best by the jury will represent Azerbaijan in Tbilisi.

Azerbaijan will return to Junior Eurovision this year for the first time since 2021. On their last appearance in the contest, Sona Azizova finished in 5th place with the song “One of Those Days”. This was Azerbaijan’s best result to date.

Junior Eurovision 2025

Junior Eurovision 2025 will be held on December 13 in Tbilisi after Andria Putkaradze gave Georgia their record-breaking fourth victory with “To My Mom”. The contest will be held at the Olympic Palace, which previously hosted the Junior Eurovision Song Contest in 2017.

A number of countries have either confirmed their participation in Junior Eurovision 2025 or signaled their intention to compete. These countries are:

Estonia and Germany have both withdrawn from the competition. The following broadcasters have confirmed they have no plans to return:

Azerbaijan in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest

Azerbaijan debuted in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest at the 2012 contest in Amsterdam. The nation had previously attempted to participate in the contest in 2008 but withdrew before the competition was held. The country’s record in the contest has not been as strong as in the Eurovision Song Contest. Azerbaijan’s best result came in 2021 on their last appearance in the contest, where Sona Azizova placed 5th with the song “One of Those Days”.
