Rumour: Wolverine PS5 Game Claws a 2026 Release, Venom Spin-Off to Follow 1

Rumour has it Sony will re-reveal Marvel’s Wolverine in a State of Play later this month, and it could be targeting a 2026 release date.

That’s according to a story from MP1st, which recently got the scoop on Dragon Quest 7 Reimagined months before it was officially announced.

The site, citing “someone familiar with the situation”, claims that the highly anticipated PS5 game will make its debut next year.

That would certainly align with the aforementioned speculation about the game’s imminent re-reveal, as PlayStation doesn’t tend to promote too many titles until they’re close to release.

As part of an increasingly juicy story, the site also claims that Marvel’s Venom – a project originally outed in the Insomniac Games hack – is also still in development.

The site seems to believe this game is still early, so it may yet be several years away. However, it claims that Eddie Brock will serve as the protagonist, and he’ll be based more on his comic book counterpart than movie star Tom Hardy.

There’s no mention of what release date Marvel’s Venom is aiming for, but Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales was such a huge hit, we wouldn’t be overly surprised if Insomniac Games was aiming to ready this for the PS6’s launch, which is expected sometime in late 2027. Even if that’s the case, though, we’d still expect there to be a PS5 version as well.
