Pride Of Arras, successful in two Group 2 contests this season, will bid for a breakthrough win at the highest level in the Qipco Champion Stakes at Ascot on October 18. 

Propelled towards the top of the market for the Derby following his win in the Dante Stakes at York in May, Pride Of Arras could beat only one rival home at Epsom in June, and suffered a heavy defeat on his next start when finishing last in the Irish Derby.

However, he made a winning return from a midsummer break as a gelding in last month’s Great Voltigeur Stakes and is now set to take on the likes of Ombudsman and Calandagan on British Champions Day.
