Novak Djokovic is still waiting to get his hands on a Grand Slam title for the 25th time in his career.

Djokovic was left unhappy with the US Open organisers at this year’s event as he lost in the semifinal to the eventual winner, Carlos Alcaraz.

Given how resigned the Serbian looked after this debut, Boris Becker was forced to answer whether he thought Djokovic would ever play the US Open again.

Djokovic has withdrawn from an event after the Flushing Meadows event, and it’s not clear when he will next take to the court.

Alcaraz was hailed by Djokovic after the match, and now Yannick Noah has shared whether he believes another Grand Slam will ever come his way.

Noah is the last player to win a Grand Slam with a wooden racket and he will captain Team Europe at the Laver Cup which takes place this week.

In the lead up to that tournament, Noah has been discussing Djokovic following his run to the semifinal at the US Open.

Naturally, the talk has been centred on whether or not Djokovic will win another Grand Slam title at the age of 38.

He told French outlet RMC: “”Against Alcaraz at the US Open. he played a good match, despite the defeat.

“It came down to seven or eight points, but Alcaraz won them.

“You can blame that on youth but I haven’t forgotten that for Nadal, we always said at the beginning of the season before he won his last Grand Slams: it’s over.

“As long as Novak plays, he’s always dangerous. In a tournament, you never know what can happen. He can always win one as long as he’s in the top three or four of the world.”

When did Novak Djokovic last win a Grand Slam

When Djokovic came through against Daniil Medvedev in the 2023 US Open final, nobody anticipated that two years down the line he’s not claimed one since.

The Serbian blew Medvedev away in straight sets to claim his 24th Grand Slam crown, winning 6-3, 7-6, 6-3.

Whether Djokovic can win another title now largely depends on the brilliance of Alcaraz and Sinner.

In reaching regular semifinal spots, Djokovic has proven that he can beat most of the other players on the tour even in his advancing years.

As a result, if Sinner and Alcaraz were to suffer shock defeats in Grand Slams that are on the horizon, perhaps it could be just the stroke of luck that Djokovic needs.
