Halle Berry asserted her claim of being the “Real Catwoman” in the most amusing and adorable way imaginable. Sharing a set of pictures of a tiny black and white stray cat, the actress hilariously claimed that she was the real Catwoman. This can hardly be debated when she is holding a three-week-old cat in her hands.
Halle Berry shares adorable new kitten photos, says she’s Catwoman
Catwoman is a character who has been represented several times on screen, even before Berry took over the role. But Halle Berry was the first Catwoman in any major solo movie. Since then, there have been several others, including Anne Hathaway in The Dark Knight trilogy, Zoë Kravitz in The Batman, and Camren Bicondova on Gotham.
But Berry used her latest Instagram post of fostering a stray cat to emphasize how she was Catwoman, quite literally. Berry wrote in the Instagram post, “I told you I was the real Catwoman! Another lil angel showed up in my yard! Please help me name him. He’s 3 weeks old and lots of fun!” Many fans commented on the post and suggested names for the cat.
In this context, Berry is indeed the Catwoman. However, her stint as the iconic DC character was nothing short of disastrous. The Golden Raspberry Awards nominated Catwoman in seven categories and awarded it Worst Picture, Worst Director, Worst Actress (Berry), and Worst Screenplay.
The actresses who followed her were far more successful in the role. Interestingly, Halle Berry was well-received in her other superhero role in X-Men, where she played Storm.
Either way, Berry’s new adorable cat is enough to show how she is “the” Catwoman. Fans were very impressed by the tiny furball, and the post drew an overwhelmingly positive response.
Besides rescuing and fostering cats, Halle Berry remains very active in the industry. She recently appeared in Never Let Go and The Union and will soon appear in Crime 101, which is currently in post-production.
