The four teams taking part in Celebrity Race Across the World were yesterday revealed as being Countyfile’s Anita Rani and her dad, Bal; Derry Girls actor Dylan Llewellyn and his mum, Jackie; DJ Tyler West and his EastEnders actor girlfriend Molly Rainford and radio presenter Roman Kemp and his sister, singer-songwriter, Harleymoon.
The six-part series will this time take place in the Caribbean, taking the famous pairings along the Pacific coast of Central America.
The journey begins on the idyllic Caribbean island of Isla Mujeres, just off the easternmost point of Mexico and challenges teams to race 5,900km to reach the finish line in the remote and breathtaking Península de La Guajira in Colombia – the gateway to South America.

In what has now become time-honoured fashion for the hit BBC1 show, the travellers will say goodbye to any lavish transport, smartphones and bank cards and instead rely on limited budgets – which don’t stretch to air fares – local transport and their own resourcefulness, along with the ever present kindness of strangers.
Relationships will again be tested, and perhaps transformed, as the duos discover the world, and themselves, in ways they may never have expected.
Show boss Tim Harcourt, one of the chiefs at production company Studio Lambert said: “The series’ success is a testament to how much audiences connect with the show’s raw emotion, incredible journeys, and heartfelt human stories. This series brings a new set of celebrities into that world and what makes it so special is watching them open up, bond, and grow through a life-changing experience. It’s inspiring, unpredictable, and full of those powerful moments that have made the format such a hit with viewers.”

BBC factual entertainment boss Catherine Catton said the show had become one of the highlights of the TV year. “We are really looking forward to setting off with a new group of famous faces and their loved ones on an incredible journey full of twists and turns.”
The six-part series will kick off next month. Last year saw Radio 2 DJ and Scott Mills and his husband (then fiancé) Sam take the title.
Earlier this year the regular series, featuring normal people, pulled in 7.5million viewers, making it the biggest factual show of the year so far, with more than 3million choosing to watch on iPlayer.
