Harvey Elliott may have swapped Liverpool for Aston Villa this summer, but he clearly still has a soft spot for the Reds.
The 22-year-old left Liverpool after struggling to get game time last term, linking up with Aston Villa on loan with an obligation to buy.
However, Liverpool included a sell-on clause and, crucially, a buy-back clause in the Harvey Elliott deal.

This means that the Reds have not closed the door on Elliott and, judging by his social media activity, he hasn’t closed the door on Anfield either.

On Wednesday night, when Liverpool were in Champions League action against Atletico Madrid, Elliott posted an Instagram story of the game on television.
As an added bonus for dog lovers, Elliott’s dachshund also featured in the photo.
Liverpool fans loved what Elliott posted, with some even suggesting the Reds should activate that buy-back clause immediately.
“You’ll be back soon, Harvs,” one fan wrote on X. “YNWA.”
Another supporter said: “He’s a Red through and through”. A different fan then wrote: “Nice one Harvey. We miss him.”

How Harvey Elliott is faring at Aston Villa
Although Villa have begun the season dreadfully, Elliott has done well enough to suggest he can be a key player for Unai Emery’s side.
Elliott was one of Villa’s best players against Brentford, scoring on his first start for the club and also creating the first chance of the game.
The England Under-21 star made his debut off the bench against Everton, though he didn’t have much time to impact on a game in which the Villans looked turgid.
Unai Emery was happy with Elliott’s full debut, and Lucas Digne was also impressed with Elliott’s display.
