Viewers are convinced there could be a death on Emmerdale very soon, as John Sugden was finally exposed.

We saw villagers unearth the truth on Thursday night, after weeks of Robert Sugden trying to tell everyone his brother John Sugden was a killer. No one listened, but when Aaron Dingle was able to raise the alarm on Thursday finally the police took action, and the villagers realised Robert was right.

Fans know that a week ago, John was exposed by his husband Aaron who finally found out his crimes. But after a showdown with Aaron’s ex Robert, John dragged Aaron off of a cliff edge leaving him fighting for his life.

Robert was arrested for attempted murder and chucked back in a cell, and with Aaron in a coma, John tried to silence him. But it all came crashing down on Thursday in the fallout to Wednesday’s episode, which saw Aaron wake from his coma and tell his mum Chas Dingle that John was holding Mack Boyd captive.

On Thursday we saw the rescue mission to find and save Mack underway, with the police and his wife Charity Dingle desperately searching the woods and the cottage, belonging to John, in the hope of locating the bunker.

When they found it they were concerned to find it empty, with a syringe left behind – which had been used by John earlier on. Knowing John had been to the cottage, panic set in as to where both John and Mack were now.

In another twist though, we saw John rushing Mack to the hospital and telling nurses Mack had overdosed. He then fled the scene, before Mack was rushed in.

It wasn’t looking good, but it was soon revealed that Mack would live as he regained consciousness in an emotional scene with Charity. As for John, he was nowhere to be found.

Having fled the hospital he wasn’t around for the moment residents realised John was the one who killed Nate Robinson and carried out several other crimes. Robert waited to be let out of prison hoping he would be freed now that everyone knew he was innocent and John was guilty.

But what will happen to John now, and will he evade justice? Fan think a murder twist could be imminent after Cain Dingle found out John was his son Nate’s killer.

Taking to X after watching Thursday’s episode, fans guessed it would lead to Cain killing John to avenge his son’s murder. One fan posted: “Do we think John ends up in prison or will someone (probably Cain) kill him?”

Another viewer predicted: “I think he will end up dead, he knows about Anthony as well so his got the upper hand with that info,” as a further tweet said: “John better run far away before Cain and Caleb catch him. Cain definitely gonna see red.”

A fourth fan said: “John, your time has run out! The WHOLE village will be coming for you!” Meanwhile a fifth viewer wrote: “John is getting away but then it’s going to be Caleb and Cain vs John.”
