Jason Hart, 30, achieved the feat at York Racecourse on Sunday, September 7, riding Rhapsody to victory in the Sky Bet Build A Bet Fillies’ Handicap for trainer William Haggis.
Hart said: “I am delighted to get to 1,000 British winners; it just shows that hard work beats talent if talent doesn’t work hard.
“A massive thanks to each and every owner and trainer but more so my agent who has booked me on every ride I have ever had.”
Hart began his racing career at age 15 at Mark Johnston’s Middleham yard.

He secured his first win in 2011 on Spice Bar at Ripon and quickly rose through the ranks, earning the Champion Apprentice title in 2013.
Notably, Hart has formed a successful partnership with Highfield Princess, trained by John Quinn, with whom he has secured several Group 1 victories.
These include the Prix Maurice de Gheest in France, the Nunthorpe Stakes in Britain, the Flying Five Stakes in Ireland (all in 2022), and the Prix de l’Abbaye de Longchamp in France in 2023.
These wins have underlined his reputation as one of Europe’s top jockeys.
As he looks ahead, Hart remains focused on building his career and adding to his tally of victories.
