Taskmaster star Mawaan Rizwan’s sitcom Juice has just dropped all episodes of its second season on streaming. With six episodes in the new season and 12 overall, this BBC Three series is something you can easily blast through in a weekend.

The show, now available to stream on on BBC iPlayer, follows Rizwan as lead character Jamma, a young man who is committed to being as chaotic as possible, although he is less committed to his boyfriend Guy (played by Him & Her’s Russell Tovey).

Season 2 kicks off with the couple broken up, and has Jamma trying whatever he can to get back together with Guy, including an attempt to change his entire personality through the help of a magician.

What to Read Next

In a review of the new season, The Guardian wrote that the “enchanting” sitcom’s comedy “may not be that distinctive” but its “creativity comes at you like a tidal wave”.

“Stories are told via the grammar of cheesy 1980s sitcoms, shadow-puppet-inspired animation and in fully fledged horror movie mode – means Juice has an anything-can-happen unreality,” the review reads. “Its compelling fusion of vague dread and childlike imagination resembles a dream curdling into a nightmare.”

On IMDb, the show has an average score of 6.5/10 from fans, based on 600 user ratings.

One glowing write-up from a fan stated that the show has “the potential to be a true comedy classic”, due to its uniqueness and the way it balances “big clowney physical comedy with poignant emotional arcs”.

Another reviewer noted the “surreal” and “inventive” visual comedy of the story, arguing that despite being “a fun show” it “won’t be for everyone”.

Alongside Rizwan, Tovey, and members of Rizwan’s own real-life family, Juice season 2 also sees appearances from comedy long-timers Kevin Eldon and Mark Gatiss.

At a launch screening for season 2 (via Radio Times), Rizwan said that Eldon was one of his “ultimate all-time comedy heroes”, and that he was “shocked” that both of the veteran stars said yes to appearing in his show.

Juice seasons 1 and 2 can now be streamed on BBC iPlayer, while season 2 episodes are airing on BBC Three.
