The pre-release event of They Call Him OG was held today at LB Stadium in Hyderabad. Fans turned up in big numbers to see Pawan Kalyan and the film’s team. But the event could not go as planned because of heavy rain. Many programs were stopped midway. Still, fans felt happy as Pawan Kalyan came on stage, made a speech, and even appeared in full costume from the film.
Pawan Kalyan entered as his character Ojas Gambheera, wearing the outfit and holding a katana sword. This special entry was the biggest highlight of the night. Even though the rain forced the event to end early, his presence gave fans a big moment to remember.
In his speech, Pawan Kalyan praised director Sujeeth. He said Sujeeth has been a fan of his since childhood. “He is not just an ordinary fan,” Pawan Kalyan said, recalling how Sujeeth once told him he wore a headband from the movie Johnny for a whole month.
He shared how after Saaho, director Trivikram Srinivas suggested that he should work with Sujeeth, and producer DVV Danayya helped bring them together. According to Pawan, Sujeeth doesn’t narrate stories in detail, but his strength can be seen when he directs on set. He also credited music director Thaman and said, “This film belongs to Sujeeth and Thaman as much as it does to me.”
Pawan Kalyan also joked that for a moment he forgot he was Deputy Chief Minister, since he came in costume for the film instead of as a politician. He added that the energy from fans reminded him of the days of Khushi and said he is seeing the same kind of craze again with OG.
Though the event was cut short due to rain, Pawan Kalyan’s words and appearance in costume made it special for fans. It also showed his confidence in the film and in the work of his director and music composer.
