The Southampton division of housebuilder Barratt David Wilson Homes held the event on August 29, at East Horton Golf Club in Eastleigh.

The day was dedicated to raising funds for one of its chosen 2025 charities, Home-Start Portsmouth.

Despite mixed weather conditions, 22 teams competed, raising a total of £28,000 for the charity.

Matt Paine, managing director at Barratt David Wilson Southampton, said: “I was so thrilled to be able to help Home-Start Portsmouth with substantial donations from the golf day.”

He added: “Thanks to our guests’ amazing donations, we exceeded our fundraising target for the event, which is great news for Home-Start.

“I’d like to thank everyone sincerely for their generosity.”

The golf tournament was followed by a dinner, which included a three-course meal, raffle, and auction.

100 guests attended the dinner.

The funds will support the work of Home-Start’s volunteers who help families with young children during challenging times.

Matt added: “Home-Start’s trained volunteers are always on hand to help families with young children who need that extra bit of support through challenging times.

“The earliest years of a child’s life are so important, and we all know that life-changing events can happen at any time.

“Home-Start volunteers work alongside parents, in their own homes, to help them cope with the stresses and strains of life and make sure they have the skills, confidence, and strength they need to nurture their children.”

Natasha Solanki, communications and fundraising manager at Home-Start Portsmouth, said: “We are absolutely thrilled and so grateful to Barratt David Wilson Homes for raising an incredible £28,000 for us.

“This money raised will make a huge difference to the families we support and means we can continue providing the vital services that give children the best possible start in life.

“It’s inspiring to see such a committed effort – we can’t thank them enough.”
