Luke Donald’s Team Europe head to the iconic New York course in high spirits following their dominant win in Rome two years ago.
Donald has decided against changing his team too much while Keegan Bradley’s American roster includes four rookies and several controversial captain’s picks.
But the home side do, of course, have plenty of quality, a massive home-field advantage and will be led by undisputed world No.1 Scottie Scheffler.
This week will see the All-Star Celebrity Match held on Wednesday before the opening ceremony on Thursday and it all builds up to Friday morning’s first foursomes match.
I’m Ryder Cup strategist and Europe have gone to extreme lengths for New York
Amid a hectic week at Bethpage, talkSPORT.com will bring you all the latest news from around the event in our ‘Ryder Cup Unrestricted’ series…
Lowry’s big money day out
Team Europe have been in New York for over a week already with the squad heading stateside following the conclusion of last week’s BMW PGA Championship at Wentworth.
Donald’s men enjoyed a week of practice at Bethpage before a weekend off.
And several stars took advantage of their down days to explore the local area.
Shane Lowry posted on his social media channels his Saturday antics at the prestigious Friar’s Head Golf Club on Long Island.
Lowry was joined by Rory McIlroy, Jon Rahm, Tyrrell Hatton and Rasmus Hojgaard for their day out at the very exclusive – and expensive – private members’ club.
It is understood initiation fees for a membership at Friar’s Head can costs upwards of $500,000 and are by invitation only.
Captain Donald commented on Lowry’s post: “Friars Head and some lads enjoying some golf. Doesn’t get much better.”

Following their day at Friar’s Head, McIlroy and Lowry were among the first to arrive at their base for week.
Team Europe are staying at the four-star Garden City Hotel which is just a 25 minute drive from Bethpage.
McIlroy and Lowry pulled up together in their blacked out Cadillac transportation.
Hojgaard and Ludvig Aberg followed shortly after before Rahm and Hatton arrived later on Sunday evening.
All the players were decked out in matching apparel of black trousers, navy t-shirts and navy and maroon bomber jackets.
The Garden City Hotel, which is currently celebrating its 150th anniversary, boasts full spa and swimming pool facilities, world class dining options and several large meeting rooms, key for Ryder Cup prep.

An opportunistic punter is looking to cash in big at the Ryder Cup by offering pricey parking.
With 272,000 fans expected to attend Bethpage Black throughout this week, parking spaces will be at a premium.
And a Farmingdale local – named Lucia Biscardi, according to Nuclr Golf on X – is hoping to make big bucks by offering up parking space rentals.
The prices start from $2,000 for the week or $300 for single days with the lot located near Farmingdale Train Station and the shuttle bus to Bethpage.
As Ryder Cup ticket prices started from $750, it’ll be an expensive week for those who do make it through the gates.

DeChambeau will look to put on a show this weekCredit: GettyBryson being Bryson
Bryson DeChambeau hit the first tee shot of Ryder Cup week on Monday morning and in typical fashion, attempted to drive the first green!
Team USA underwent a practice round on Monday while their opponents Europe decided to have a day off.
As Keegan Bradley’s men gathered for their day of prep, DeChambeau was first up on the tee box.
And in LIV Golf superstar looked to set the tone early, taking out driver on opening hole and seeking to reach the putting surface.
The first at Bethpage Black is a 397 yard par-4 but it doglegs severely to the right so plays to around 350 yards.
As such, it’s within range for DeChambeau and he will no doubt look to sends fans wild on Friday morning by driving the green in the opening foursomes matches.

Koepka sent a message to Team USA with a fine showing in ParisCredit: GettyKoepka sends message
While none of the Ryder Cup stars were in competitive action this weekend, one player not in New York did catch the eye.
Brooks Koepka has not claimed a victory in 2025 and recently admitted to ‘playing himself out’ of the Ryder Cup.
He has been in Europe for the last few weeks as he strives to rediscover his top form and stamp his mark back on elite golf next year.
And the five-time major champion was in contention to win the FedEx Open de France in Paris.
Koepka’s brilliant 65 on Saturday at Golf de Saint-Nom-La-Breteche saw him hold a share for the lead ahead of the final round in France.
A Sunday 68 meant he came up just two shots short of eventual champion Michael Kim but did represent a much-needed boost for the 35-year-old.
Captain Bradley will no doubt have noticed Koepka’s fine play in Paris…
