As noted in Section 7.3 of ROSES-25 A.1 Earth Science Research Overview, “High-end computing, networking, and storage are critical enabling capabilities for Earth system science…and maintains appropriate high-end computing, networking, and storage for use by the SMD funded investigators. Computing resources are provided through various ROSES program elements. Over the past several years, computational resources have become significantly constrained.”

ROSES-2025 Amendment 8 announces that that those proposing to Earth Science (ROSES Appendix A) to use the NASA Center for Climate Simulation (NCCS) high-end computing facility must include $0.09/SBU in their budget per the instructions provided in Section 7.3 of ROSES-25 A.1 Earth Science Research Overview. This applies to all open and future program elements in Appendix A (Earth Science) as of 09/22/2025.

On or about September 22, 2025, this Amendment to the NASA Research Announcement “Research Opportunities in Space and Earth Sciences (ROSES) 2025” (NNH25ZDA001N) will be posted on the NASA research opportunity homepage at https://solicitation.nasaprs.com/ROSES2025

Questions concerning this change in NCCS billing for ROSES Earth Science (Appendix A) proposers may be directed to Craig Ferguson, at craig.r.ferguson@nasa.gov.
