Katie Price has been rushed to hospital this weekend due to significant weight loss. In a health update on Snapchat, the former glamour model revealed that she needed some stitches removed after accidentally stabbing herself and underwent tests to determine the cause of her rapid weight loss.
Fans have noticed the changes in Katie’s figure, and she previously stepped on the scales to show that nothing appeared to be wrong. The mum-of-five has now admitted that she “doesn’t know why” she is losing weight and is hoping the tests will provide some answers.
Taking to her Snapchat story, Katie shared a video where she explained what happened, and wrote over it: “Gone to the doctors about my weight.”
She stated: “I’ve been up early at the doctors so she could do some bloods and because my veins are so s*** they had three attempts. They could only fill two tubes up, so I’ve got to go back in two weeks.
“And I’ve got to have my stitches out then because they looked at my little stab wound that I did. The reason I’m going to the doctors is because I keep losing weight and I don’t know why. So that’s that.”
On Saturday the 47-year-old told fans that she had been taken to A&E. Sharing a photo of the illuminated A&E sign on Snapchat, she joked: “Not what I had on my bingo card for Friday night.”
She has not shared any further details. When contacted by the Mirror, her representatives assured that Katie was “absolutely fine,” explaining she was only in hospital for a general check-up and to have her stitches removed.

Previously, Katie had said the weight loss was what she wanted to happen, after fans were concerns about how much weight she was loosing, the Mirror reports. In May, she stated: “Yes I’ve lost weight. Yes that’s what I’ve wanted to do, I’ve wanted to lose weight.
“Because… three, four years ago when I broke my feet I was in a wheelchair for ten months because they said I’d never walk again, and obviously you put weight on being in a wheelchair. And then I did all the IVF stuff, that also puts on weight. So yeah, I did put on weight and I hated it, I felt uncomfortable and it wasn’t me.”
Last year, she also opened up on Louis Theroux’s podcast about her battles with weight and her unhappiness with her body. “I always said I haven’t got body dysmorphia,” she said. “But there’s definitely something, I don’t know what it is. I’ve never looked in the mirror and thought I’m pretty.”

Katie’s friends and family have also voiced concerns after the star turned up late – or failed to show up – to several events. A source explained: “Katie has been turning up late to events – or not turning up at all – and those close to her are worried that she might be getting out of control. They’ve witnessed it before. She’s trying to do it all, but she’s burning herself out. It doesn’t seem to be sinking in.”
Fans were left furious when Katie arrived late and was only able to perform for 35 minutes during a recent date of her tour with Kerry Katona. The star also faced backlash from Milton Keynes Pride after pulling out of her scheduled performance. The source continued: “Katie doesn’t seem to care that she’s not just letting down the venues and the organisers, she’s also letting down her fans who have paid money to come to see her – it’s simply not fair on them.”
“She doesn’t realise that being this unreliable has consequences, and while punctuality has never been her strong point, it’s not a good look. Everyone around her thinks that she needs to focus on herself and get to a good place rather than to continue being on stage and working.”
However, while some of her friends and family are concerned, her close pal Kerry has insisted that Katie’s inconsistent behaviour can easily be explained.
Speaking about the time Katie turned up late to their tour, Kerry said: “Katie had Harvey at home and a nine-hour drive to get to the show, where the traffic was mental, so I completely understood her being late. She has been on stage and working until silly hours each night so I don’t blame her at all, it was out of her control.”

“Katie has been really reliable the rest of the tour so people need to give her a break. She did the first half of the show virtually, so it’s not like she wasn’t there at all. Lots of people in the audience actually found it quite funny that she was late, too.”
Although the source close to Katie had a different opinion, stating: “Katie isn’t in a great place – she’s partying one minute and dodging things she’s previously committed to the next.
“People rely on her, so of course it’s frustrating when she doesn’t pull through. But she’s had a tough few months – she needs to slow down and take time out for herself. This kind of erratic lifestyle isn’t good for her.”
